Biomechanical assessment and podiatry in Cartagena

We study how you stand, walk and move to understand your case and decide what approach may make clinical sense.

A footprint is only one piece of information. We combine symptoms, examination, movement, footwear, activity and your goals.

What would you like assessed?

Choose the situation closest to yours. This is not a diagnosis; it is a simple way to find the right information before you call.

Clinical assessment of the foot and heel
Heel, forefoot and loading

When walking or standing starts to limit you

We assess where symptoms occur, how you load the foot, your mobility and the possible role of footwear, activity and gait.

  • Heel pain or plantar fascia symptoms
  • Metatarsalgia and forefoot pressure
  • Symptoms that change with footwear
Functional assessment of knee, foot support and gait
Foot support and movement chain

Foot function can be part of the context, but it does not explain everything

We assess the relationship between loading, gait, mobility and symptoms cautiously. Knee or back pain is not automatically attributed to the foot.

  • Knee symptoms during gait
  • Back symptoms and functional compensation
  • Asymmetries that need assessment

Running and sport

Technique is one part; load, footwear and recovery matter too

We relate movement to your symptoms, training volume, surfaces and how your body is actually tolerating the activity.

  • Running and gait analysis
  • Sports footwear review
  • Return-to-sport or continuity goals
Biomechanical assessment of a child's foot
Growth and gait

Not every child with flat feet needs orthoses

Age, pain, fatigue, falls, gait and development help us decide whether observation is enough or whether the case should be assessed.

  • Fatigue or discomfort when walking
  • Frequent falls or unusual gait
  • Follow-up during growth

Comfort, support and safety

More confidence when walking without sacrificing comfort

We assess functional balance, mobility, sensation, pressure areas and how easy your footwear is to use before considering progressive options.

  • Unsteadiness, fatigue or falls
  • Difficulty with usual footwear
  • Need for pressure relief or more stability

After-effects and difficult fittings

When a standard solution is not enough

We review surgery, accidents, asymmetry, neurological conditions or previous orthoses that have not been well tolerated.

  • Surgical or traumatic history
  • Previous treatment that did not adapt well
  • Special footwear or material requirements

Technology guided by clinical judgement

Technology measures. Clinical judgement interprets.

Tests help us observe pressure and movement, but they do not replace clinical examination or your history.

We use data to understand the problem more clearly, explain the options and decide the next step with you.

MEDIPIE Method

Understand first. Decide afterwards.

The MEDIPIE Method connects biomechanical assessment with an individual decision. The outcome may be observation, changes to activity or footwear, coordination with another professional, or treatment when indicated.

05Fit and follow up
  1. We start with your symptoms, limitations, activity and history, then select the tests that answer the clinical question.

  2. We relate mobility, loading, gait, footwear and activity without automatically attributing symptoms to one structure.

  3. The conclusion may be observation, changes to activity or footwear, coordination with another professional, or treatment.

  4. Only when an orthosis is indicated do we define its purpose, geometry, materials and stiffness and fabricate it in our own workshop.

  5. We fit it to your foot and footwear and review tolerance, functional response and wear so that adjustments can be made when needed.

About MEDIPIE and its professional background
In-house fabrication and direct fitting

We assess it, make it and fit it directly to your foot

We do not send our custom orthoses to an external laboratory. After biomechanical and postural assessment, we define the objective, design and appropriate resins or materials for each patient.

When indicated, our direct adaptation technique allows the orthosis to be shaped directly to the foot without an intermediate mould, checked for fit and then adapted to the footwear before tolerance is reviewed.
